Home Visits

Doctor's bag If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:30 if you require a home visit. You will also need to provide some details of your illness to enable the doctors to prioritise calls. Please try to attend the surgery where possible rather than ask for a home visit. At the surgery we can examine you more easily, have direct access to all your records and time is saved for both parties,

We are also able to make emergency visits. You will be able to speak to the doctor or the practise nurse for advice and appropriate arrangements will be made to help you.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a District Nurse or the Community Matron if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
