Nurse Lesley Spall

Lesley has nursed in the Community setting for over 20 years.  Lesley's qualifications and experience enables her to visit our care home patients and housebound patients  to assess, diagnose and prescribe if indicated at times of acute illness and review as necessary.  Lesley will also visit the Care Home patients for routine monitoring of patients with long term conditions . Lesley will offer patients and their families the opportunity to discuss Advanced Care Planning.  Lesley is also the Nurse Lead within the Surgery. 

Lesley's Qualifications are as follows;

Registered Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) & Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing and Health Studies
  • Bsc (Hons) Community Specialist Practitioner 
  • Independent and Supplementary Prescriber 

Other Post Registration/Graduate Qualifications:

  • MSc Advanced Practice ( Health and Social Care)
  • Diploma in Primary Care Diabetes Management 
  • Mentorship, Leg Ulcer Management, Promotion of Continence Modules

Here at Stonebridge Surgery we have a team of Practice nurses with a range of specialisms and a wealth of experience and expertise.  The Practice nurses are qualified and Registered nurses that are here to assess, screen, treat and support patients with health issues and assist the Doctors in providing medical care as listed below.

  • Assessing problems presented opportunistically by patients, with referral to the GP if necessary,
  • Assisting the GP's with Minor Surgery,
  • Blood Pressure Monitoring,
  • Chaperoning patients where appropriate, 
  • Chronic Disease Management Clinics ( Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Cardio-vascular disease)
  • Contraception and Sexual Health
  • Cytology
  • Management of Childhood Immunisations
  • New Patient Medicals 
  • Peak Flow readings
  • Performing any investigatory procedures requested by the GP or Nurse Practitioner,
  • Requesting and obtaining pathology tests, 
  • Seasonal and Routine Immunisations,
  • Travel Clinic Immunisations
Nurse Ana Martinez-Zamora

Ana is a Registered Nurse, with a Bsc ( Hons) in Nursing Studies.  Ana has the qualifications, skills and competencies to care for patients with Chronic Diseases and Long term conditions such as Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension and Coronary Heart Disease. Ana is also a qualified to deliver travel vaccines and baby immunisations.   Ana is also qualified to undertake cervical smear examinations.

Healthcare Assistants

Mrs Cheryl Woodruff

Cheryl is a health care assistant who will undertake all aspects of treatment room duties.  Cheryl has had training in ear care, venepuncture, and is able to undertake some immunisations and vaccinations. 

Phlebotomists

Mrs Judy McArdle

We have a Phlebotomist, Judy McArdle, who is responsible for drawing patients bloods ( venepuncture). This service is available on an appointment basis.
